If you are in the Finger Lakes Region of New York, you will have the opportunity to visit 2 and possibly 4 different AVA regions. The Finger Lakes AVA and Cayuga Lake AVA are definites with Lake Erie AVA and the Hudson River AVA both being stretches. But we can honestly say that the best place to stay is in Watkins Glen, NY. We have a favorite Bed & Breakfast which is an unbelievable place with a wide range of rooms and rates available. Idlwilde Inn is not your typical NY State B&B since it is an 18 room mansion with (I think) 13 of those rooms available for guest accomodations. This is unique in the sense of they had to get special provisioning from the state and the town of Watkins Glen to be run as a B&B rather than a Hotel.
