Wow, that was close! the tree almost fell over! Well, now that I have straightened the tree out, let's talk about it a bit more. It is still the Chandelier Tree, but years ago, someone carved their initials in it, but then decided that was tacky... well, not really, they made it a "Drive Through" tree. The opening where I am standing is approximately 6 ft 4 inches tall by 6 ft wide. And yes, theoretically, you can drive a small car through it. Perhaps a VW Beetle.

Besides the Chandelier Tree, we drove parallel to Hwy 101 on the Avenue of the Giants and like I said before, "Once you have seen a Redwood, everything else....".... You get the idea. The road meanders through a forest of mainly Redwoods in the lower areas and some spruce and other conifer trees, but is a beautiful drive and we recommend it. On to Ferndale!
