In this picture, I am standing
next to a SMALL Redwood that has fallen or was cut down by vandals. There
are many Redwoods that were down from one reason or another, but since
they do not have taproots, once they begin to start falling, there is
not much there to save them from going all the way over. Now as I mentioned
earlier, Redwoods grow in groves. One set of roots may sprout a number
of trees. There is one such grove that my best guess is approximately
60 foot in diameter, so when you walk into the center, which is devoid
of much else, it is quite the realization that there could have been either
a smaller grove or a single parent tree in the location perhaps milleniums
ago. Ok, enough of the Redwoods for now....
