If you don't know much about Redwoods, I am no expert, but I can tell you a little bit. They are big! This picture, I am giving the perspective of the height of one with the foliage far overhead. Redwoods grow in groves. They have no taproot so they rely upon their weight to generally keep them in place. They love the wet areas and live for many years. More than 100, 500 and even more than 1,000 years! So many of these trees are estimated in years based from fallen trees that they have had the opportunity to count the rings and judge the age of others.
