Library
The library is, well, where we will store MOST of the books that have been accumulated over the years by both of us. This room will also serve as Martha's office where her computer will be housed and some other storage for some of her crafts. There are two doors in this room, but one, to the bathroom will be eliminated so that we can put up more bookshelves!

So when I began the elimination of the door to the bathroom, I had to rip out the drywall around the door. Upon doing this, I began to see structural issues that I did not like at all. This, being a load bearing wall, should be structurally sound. The result of my findings can be seen in the picture below. I ended up removing all of the drywall on that wall and prepared to re-solidify the wall by replacing the studs, one section at a time. As you can see from the photo, the studs are not aligned in some places and why there were horizontal 2x4's in there is beyond me - and you see the black box that all of the wires are going in to? That is a fuse box that was still in service and hidden within the walls. I was able to eliminate it after we got our electrical service upgraded with a new breaker box and amperage. Then there was the issue of the wiring and the hidden junction boxes. And some junctions did not even have boxes! Oy!
