Detail
Detail? What do I mean by detail? In sanitation, I said that I don't always keep things to a science. But, brewing is a science. So understanding that science is relatively important. The science involves using grains and other sources, converting them to fermentable (and unfermentable) sugars that yeast will feed upon and create alcohol for your pleasure. To me the details is making sure that I have everything I need readily available in my brewing area to accomplish my goal. Make good brews! This includes know what ingredients you are using, when to use those ingredients, having the proper hardware (pots, pails, copper cooling coils, etc.), sanitation tools (bleach and water) and finally the fire. Understanding how all of this is used together and result in such a wonderful brew, each and every time... Well almost every time. We all make our mistakes! I hate it when that happens!
